Big group:

 Introduce vocabulary with flashcards, then hang them on the wall.

Target vocabulary: Halloween, monster, wizard, mummy, zombie, a jack o' lantern, trick or treat, candy, a spider web, a haunted house, a black cat, a bat, a ghost, a vampire, a skeleton, a mummy, Frankenstein, a witch, a cauldron, a spider, a werewolf, etc.

We encourage you to display a different presentation: Before class teacher prints out the flashcards for the Halloween characters you are going to teach. On 2 or 3 backs of these cards print an scary ghost picture. 

Teacher explains students are going to play "ghost chase!". Teacher shows one flashcard and asks "Look! there's a/an ..." to elicit the word. Then quickly turn over the card - if the back is blank everyone is safe ("phew!"). If the back of the card has got the ghost image, teacher shouts "Ghost!" and gets the students to quickly get up and run to keep out of the teacher´s way. Teacher has to run after everyone and tag them (they have to sit down). Return everyone back to the middle of the floor to continue with the flashcards.
