Prepositions

Big group

Teacher prepares a box and a small school supply (pencil, pencilcase, etc.). Before class, teacher puts the object inside the box. In class, teacher rattles the box and asks the students rattle the box to try to guess what is inside. Teacher takes out the object and present it to the class. If it is an unknown object, introduce it to the students. Also elicit the word “box”. Teacher puts the object on the box and asks “Where is it?”. Teacher elicits the preposition “on” and then “It’s on the box”. Do the same with the prepositions: under, in, behind, besides.

In pairs - Practice

Students do the same role with their objects. Teacher model first with a student.
