Teacher brings a piece of fruit for each of the fruits the class has studied. Teacher cuts the fruit up into tiny squares – try and get all the squares roughly the same size. Teacher puts each fruit’s squares on separate paper or plastic plates and brings the plates into the classroom and lay them out on a table. The students have to guess which fruit is on each plate by smelling and eating. Teacher can supply plastic spoons for each student. Even though teacher models to the students what to do, he/she should act as he/she doesn´t know and asks the students taste and guess with him/her. Teacher encourages vocabulary such as “Yummy” and “Yuk” and makes sure students use the English fruit words and asks them which fruit they like.
